A superstar architect and designer, Carlo Mollino's erotic photographs were kept a secret until they were discovered after his death in 1973. The photographs in Polaroids are a selection of 1200 pictures of sex workers and dancers that Mollino invited back to his 18th-century Turin villa – a secret, dream space that he designed as if to be photographed, but never lived in himself. In every photograph, the anonymous women are part of a meticulously crafted mise en scène of props, styling, furniture and fabrics that are every bit as important as their own beauty.
